Seven Questions with Mike Stegall, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation Serving Howard, Carroll and Clinton Counties
  
Mike Stegall is the president and chief executive officer and founder of Community First Bank.  At the end of 2011, he will finish his current term as chairman of the board of directors of the Community Foundation serving Howard, Carroll and Clinton counties.  Mike’s commitment to the Foundation is long standing as he was also the founding board chairman of the Community Foundation in 1989.

A year end gift to a fund in the Community Foundation that serves Howard, Carroll and Clinton counties reaches far beyond the holiday season.  Throughout the year, annual giving supports students, nonprofit organizations, and programs and services that ensure current needs are met and future dreams are fulfilled. 
Competitive Grants
The American Veterans Traveling Tribute was one of many community activities supported by the Foundation.
A Variety of Needs Met Through 2011 Competitive Grants
 
The grant cycles for 2011 have come to a close and the Foundation saw a variety of requests from all three counties.  In total, there were 59 organizations that applied for funding through the competitive/unrestricted grants process with requests totaling more than $441,000.  The combined amount awarded was more than $339,200 to 44 organizations within Howard, Carroll and Clinton counties. 
 

The Foundation thanks donors for providing support towards operating expenses.
Friends of Carroll County and David Foster Society Support Foundation’s Daily Operations
 
Donors who provide funding toward the operating expenses of an organization help to maintain an infrastructure that is essential to its success. 
 
The Community Foundation has established the Friends of Carroll County and the David Foster Society in Howard County to provide operating support for the Foundation.  In addition, several Clinton County donors have provided gifts for operating endowment funds that support the operating budget of the Foundation forever.
